So far, the start of November has been pretty calm. I am supposedly getting an ADP login soon so that I can complete payroll entirely by myself and on my own computer. Continue reading “November Happenings”
This week has been much calmer than last week. After doing some payroll work with Leslie on Monday, I plunged headfirst into analyzing survey results. It took me almost two and a half days to really complete putting the results into a file for my boss.
My last work-related blog spoke about how I was going to be busy while Leslie was gone to Hartselle. I honestly wasn’t sure I could manage all the workload without her and I though I was going to be extremely slow and maybe not get everything done that I needed to.
Thankfully, I was wrong! Monday and Tuesday Continue reading “Slightly Succeeding in the Business World”
To discover my digital footprint, I googled my name. I even followed it with “Scottsburg, Indiana” for more accurate results. This is page I was directed to. Continue reading “My Digital Presence”
By now, my internship is starting to lose the exciting “new job” feel. But I’m okay with that because it’s still enjoyable to me. I go in at 9:00, and I say hello to everyone as I make my way to my desk. After passing the factory section and the one office a person I haven’t spoken to yet, everyone knows me and I can say hi to them. Teresa’s desk is next to mine and she always seems happy to see me. I ask her any questions I have about how to do things on the computer because Heidi and Leslie’s offices are farther away and they are often taking calls and can’t talk.
I completed my first official project. It was a survey that Continue reading “Getting Used to the Office Life”
This week was an eventful one at Ilpea Industries. We got a new intern named Chris, so I’m not the only intern there anymore. Chris is in Engineering though so I don’t really interact with him very much. Plus he’s in college and is doing a full time internship for his degree, so we’re on very different schedules. It’s nice to not be the only one who doesn’t know every detail about the company from working there for years though.
This week I had a lot of questions about mail. I just got Continue reading “Asking all these Questions”
As soon as the bell signals the end of the first period, I gather my things, say goodbye to my desk partner Emily, and head to the front office. It’s time for me to sign out and head over to Ilpea. About two weeks ago, I secured my internship position in their Human Resources department. I was very excited; this is the first internship I’ve ever held. I have so many plans and ideas for the time that I spend with Ilpea.
After some discussion with my boss Continue reading “An Ilpea Internship”
